Packing

Sun Valley temps will be in the high 30s during the day and low 10s at night - colder than last year. Pack plenty of warm layers for chilly evenings and outdoor activities. Casual attire works for all meals. Since everyone will be snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, come prepared with appropriate attire.

Packing Essentials

Snow Apparel Rentals

If you’d like to play in the snow but don’t have your own snow gear, you can rent everything ahead of time and bring it with you.

Sports Basement rents full snow apparel packages from any of their store fronts in the Bay, or you can have them shipped to you ahead of time (charge to your Brex and tag as Sun Valley Offsite).

To be fully covered, rent the "All Apparel Package" for 5-10 days. Make sure you plan accordingly to have them with you when you arrive in Sun Valley.

Reserve your Ski/Board Gear

Whether you need ski or snowboard rentals for lessons or for cruising the slopes, we’re making the process simple. You’ll have a dedicated time block on your calendar to get fitted on Monday, 2/23 at Pete Lane’s, conveniently located in the Sun Valley Village, before checking into your room. A friendly staff member will help ensure the right fit.

Once fitted, your equipment will be delivered and waiting for you at the base area of your choice the next morning - no hauling gear, just more time on the mountain.

Taking lessons?

  • Beginners: Please have your gear delivered to Dollar Mountain

  • Intermediate: Please have your gear delivered to Baldy Mountain

* Note: This is separate from the team cross-country ski event. Rentals for that activity will be handled by the events team based on your selections and will be available at Galena Lodge.
